I made a mistake... 🤦‍♀️

Published over 1 year ago • 2 min read

Welp Reader...I'm sorry for emailing twice in one day, but...

I made a mistake.

I sent you the wrong sign-up deadline for the Winter Backcountry Trip. 😬

I double and triple checked all the trip details and dates, but had March in my head when I typed the sign-up date. 🙈

Thankfully someone very graciously pointed it out to me this evening as the sign-up date was AFTER the trip date. 🤣

So to clarify:

Sign-ups are open until this next Monday, January 16, 2023. NOT March 16, 2023.

Here's the email I sent early again with all the (correct) details.

Hey Reader!

This weeks regular email will show up in your inbox tomorrow, but I couldn't wait to share this with you!

Last year, John bought a splitboard setup and went on an epic Intro to Backcountry weekend.

And, well...apparently I'm a little jealous. Check out my stories from last night to see why.

So this year I'm thinking it's my turn!

And since adventures are always more fun (and more affordable) with friends, I thought I'd open it up as an adventure trip and invite you along!

Wanna join me Reader?

Almost everything will be covered in the cost of the trip. Here's what I'm planning:

  • What's included:
    • Cozy cabin, ideally with a hot tub 🙌 (Shared rooms are a possibility, but no shared beds required.)
    • Most food will be provided (plan to BYOB, any favorite snacks, and possibly one dinner out)
    • 2 days of an Intro to Backcountry Skiing/Snowboarding Course with certified guides.
      • No backcountry experience necessary!! If you're an intermediate skier/rider you can do this!
      • I'm setting up a private (or semi-private depending on how many we end up with) course for us at a greatly discounted rate to get us the best deal!
      • We'll be learning the basics of avy awareness, planning, getting comfortable with our gear, techniques, and more.
    • Splitboarding or backcountry ski rentals included, if needed!
  • Basic schedule:
    • Friday, March 3: Arrive, dinner together.
    • Saturday & Sunday: Full day Intro to Backcountry course with dinner, games, and hot tub time back at the cabin.
    • Monday, March 6 am: Quick breakfast and departure.
  • Additional details
    • We'll work out transportation once the full group is set, and see where everyone is coming from. If needed, I'll grab a bigger vehicle or recruit another driver.
    • Transport from the airport may be possible - email me to discuss!

Where? We'll be exploring Mt. Hood in Oregon!

When? March 3-6, 2023

Who? If you're an intermediate skier or snowboarder who identifies as a woman this is for you! Have questions on ability or whether this is the right fit? Just hit reply!

Price: $1595/person includes your lodging, most food, backcountry course for two full days, and more fun goodies I'm working on adding!

Optional Payment Plan: You can pay in full today or choose to split pay with two payments of $800 (one today and one in a month).

Available slots: 5 minimum, 9 maximum. The backcountry course has a maximum of 10 spots (including me) and in order to keep the cost this low, we need a minimum of 5 guests.

👉👉 IMPORTANT:Sign-ups for this trip are only open from today until Monday, January 16, 2023 at midnight PST. I know this is a super short sign-up period, but in order to finalize our private/semi-private tour, I have to secure our spots the first of next week.

Have questions? Just hit reply! I'll be checking my email regularly over the next few days to make sure you get all the answers you need!

Hope to see you!

Tiffany

P.S. Due to the nature of winter sports and backcountry adventures, I highly recommend having trip and health insurance. If you need trip insurance recommendations, please let me know!

Happy Friday Reader! It's official - we have a teenager in the house! 😅 Somehow my oldest went from this... We were all such babies!! to this.. How is he taller than me already?! in no time. It's exciting (and a little terrifying all at once 🙃). The last two weeks have been a whirlwind with birthday celebrations, my parents visiting, and finishing up our first quarter of homeschool for the year, so I'm just going to jump right in today! There's a TON of new content up on the site perfect for...

Why hello there Reader! If youʻve seen the news at all lately, you know weʻve been having uncharacteristically hot weather here in the PNW recently. And Iʻm not talking about it was a little warm...Iʻm talking our averages are typically in the 70ʻs and they hit 115°F this past weekend. Luckily, our house does have A/C, so weʻve been able to stay in during the hottest part of the day. Thanks for sharing what you love to do during the summer with me last week! Not surprising, but a lot of you...
